Bettyann Silvius and Melissa Quintana make same-day moves!
On April 27th, Bettyann Silvius joined The Sullivan Company in their Project Management/Business Development role. Bettyann has more than 20 years experience in the Construction industry focusing on the renovation/fit-out market in Philadelphia and surrounding areas, including New Jersey and Delaware. Her main focus of projects are in the Corporate, Legal, Educational and Institutional markets with expertise in the renovation/fit-out market managing projects from estimating to preconstruction through project completion including scheduling, cost control, quality control and coordination/communication with architect and owner. As part of her responsibilities, Bettyann will be maintaining client relationship as well as forming new client relationships.
On the same day, Melissa Quintana joined American Water Resources as the new Associate Manager, Market Development. In this role she will help to identify and develop business opportunities for Homeowner Services. Melissa will work closely with the Market Development team, as well as with other Homeowner Services functions including Marketing, Compliance, Legal, Finance and Operations and with Corporate Communications. Among her key responsibilities will be identification and tracking of RFP opportunities, competitive intelligence tracking and updates, research and support for new market opportunities and coordination of media and tradeshow activities. Melissa's actions to facilitate and drive projects will assist AWR in meeting its new business revenue and pipeline goals.

Board Member, Kristina C. Harshany joins Citibank
Citibank recently named Kristina C. Harshany, a Certified Exchange Specialist and one of your board members, as Vice President in its Financial Intermediaries Group. In this role, she is responsible for enhancing Citibank's products and services for the 1031 exchange industry. A 1031 tax-deferred exchange is a method by which a property owner trades one or more relinquished properties for one or more replacement properties of "like-kind," while deferring the payment of federal income taxes and some state taxes on the transaction. As we enter the second month in 2009 we can't turn anywhere without being reminded that this is not going to be one of our best years...or is it? As many of you know, I belong to CREW - Commercial Real Estate Women. I not only belong, I actively belong. Once again, as I attended one of their national leadership meetings this past week and a local meeting just yesterday, I was not just impressed but blown away by how they connect to do business. The local meeting had a panel talking about bad commercial real estate loans, workout deals, valuation issues and the down market.
